Kano State Police command says it has arrested three suspects who allegedly abducted a 5-year old boy, Ahmad Ado, and killed him.
The command in a statement by its spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, on Thursday said they received a report on Wednesday, July 10 that the boy had been kidnapped.
The statement said that the police were informed that the kidnappers demanded N50 million ransom.
‘’On receiving the information, a team of operation Puff Adder detectives from Anti-Kidnapping Squad immediately swung into action, adding that using technical intelligence, they arrested a 20-year-old man, Ibrahim Ahmad, of Darmanawa quarters as a principal suspect, ‘’said the statement.
It said on interrogation, the suspect told the police that two of his accomplices, Abdulmajid Mohd and Musa Sunusi, both 18-years-old of Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government area of Kano were involved , hence they were also arrested immediately.
According to the statement, the suspects confessed to have kidnapped the victim and even drugged him to death, adding that they went ahead and buried him in a shallow grave at an uncompleted building.
It noted that ‘’the scene was visited by Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Iliyasu, and a team of forensic experts and the corpse was exhumed. Forensic Investigation has commenced and suspects will be charged to court after investigation.’’
