Four policemen and a Civil Defence Personnel attached to the National Assembly were allegedly shot by Shi’ite members on Tuesday.
The Shi’ite members have continually been protesting the detention of their leader, El Zaky Zaky over the years.
An eye witness said the members of the group began coming into the National Assembly premises in earlier today in a small number before they gathered into a sizeable number.
The group allegedly eventually overpowered security men at the first gate but met stiff resistance at the second where four policemen and personnel of NSCDC were shot by armed members of the group.
Some cars were allegedly damaged.
Solacebase gathered that Police later fired teargas to disperse the group as the members later scampered for safety.
