Kano state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the appointment of Eng. Munir Ahmad Gwarzo as the new Managing Director of Water Resources and Engineering Construction Agency (WRECA), replacing Dr Umar Musa Mustapha, who was earlier announced.
Ganduje said that the appointment is with immediate effect, charging the new Managing Director to work hard and be committed to his new assigned responsibility.
This was contained in a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar on Friday.
The statement said Ganduje directed the new Chief Executive Officer to deploy his Engineering expertise and experience to introduce modern ways of handling the Agency’s responsibilities for the overall development of the state.
The statement noted that until his appointment he was with the Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State, as an Assistant Lecturer.
Gwarzo is a holder of B.Eng. Electrical, from Bayero University, Kano, 2003, Post Graduate Diploma in Education, in 2006 and M.Eng. Electrical, 2008, all from Bayero University, Kano.
He is a member of Engineering professional bodies, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), 2011, with registration number (R20139) and Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), 2010, with registration number (No. 23407).
Engineer Gwarzo was a Supervisory Councillor with the Caretaker Committee of Gwarzo local government area Council, from 2003 to 2007.
He was an Administrative Secretary of Gwarzo local government Council, from 2007 to 2010.
