The Police Service Commission will from Monday, July 1, 2019, commence the screening of 210,150 shortlisted applicants for recruitment into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force. Said a statement.
The statement by the PSC spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, in Abuja on Wednesday, said that the applicants had received in their emails their letters of invitation stating venue, date and requirements for the screening.
It said the exercise which holds in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, will end on July 28.
The statement said the shortlisted candidates were part of the 10,000 Nigerians the Commission planned to recruit into the Force as approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.
‘’The Commission said it received 315,032 applications at the close of its recruitment portal on January 11, adding that Niger State had the highest number of applicants with 12,247 shortlisted for screening while Lagos had the least with 1,305, ‘’said the statememnt.
According to the statement,’’Kano state had the second highest applicants with 11,717; Katsina, 11,651; Benue, 10, 567; Adamawa, 10,361 and Bauchi, 10,232 applicants.
‘’ Bayelsa state with 1,414 had the second lowest applicants after Lagos followed by Anambra with 1,415; Ebonyi, 1,679, and Abia with 1,880 applicants.’’
‘’Out of the 210,150 applicants shortlisted for screening, 182,926 are males while 27,224 are females.’’
Chairman of the Commission, Musiliu Smith, admonished the candidates to be of good behavior throughout the period of the screening.
