Kano state House of Assembly has expressed readiness to tap from the wealth of experience of Emir Muhammad Sanusi II in order to do the needful in the course of discharging their mandated responsibilities.
Solacebase recalled that the Kano State 9th Assembly was inaugurated on June 7th with the emergence of its principal officers.
The Speaker of the Assembly Alhaji Abdulazeez Garba Gafasa stated this on Tuesday during a visit to the Emir’s palace with other principal officers of the house.
Abdulazeez Garba Gafasa represents Ajingi Constituency at the Assembly.
He said the visit was to introduce the house members to the Emir, seeking royal blessing and collaboration in the development of the state.
The Speaker, who made an on-the-spot introduction of his principal officers on behalf of the entire state lawmakers said they will be extremely delighted of what they will immensely benefit out of the emir’s wisdom and his wealth of experiences that cut across various sectors.
In a remark, Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sunusi II, who was pleased with the visit, said legislatures play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the people.
He added that, “Kano Emirate Council in collaboration with the state government as well as Ulamas from various sects, have gone a long way in drafting workable resolutions which will address the menace of marital problems, street-begging, juvenile delinquencies, girl-child education and other social vices which have become eyesore to the serenity of the state.”
Emir Sunusi stressed that when the drafts are readily completed, they will be forwarded to the State Assembly for passage into laws that will stem the tides of such daily menaces posing serious threat to the present and yet unborn generation.
The emir prayed for the entire members of Kano State 9th Assembly and wish them successful deliberation within a 4-year span of their legislative representation.
