Former Majority leader Femi Gbajabiamila on Tuesday emerged as Speaker of the House of Representatives for the Ninth Assembly.
Gbajabiamila defeated his close contender Mohammed Bago with 281 votes, while Bago scored 76.
A total of 358 lawmakers voted while there was an invalid vote.
He was elected in 2003, representing Surelere 1 Federal Constituency.
