The Emir of Kano Malam Muhammad Sanusi II has replied query issued him by Kano state government over an alleged misappropriation of N3.4bn
The reply dated 7th June ,2019 was signed by Acting Secretary of the Kano Emirate Council Abba Yusuf.
The reply titled Re- Report of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti – Corruption Commission was addressed to the Secretary to the State Government.
Solacebase recalled that Kano state government issued the Emir a query on Thursday with a 48 hours ultimatum to reply the allegation of misappropriating N3.4Bn in a preliminary report submitted by the state Anti-Corruption Agency.
According to the reply,’’At the time Emir Sanusi was installed as the Emir of Kano the exact amount in the accounts of the Emirate Council was N1,893,378, 927.38 ( One Billion, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Three Million, Three Hundred and Seventy Eight Thousand ,Nine Hundred and Twenty Seven Naira, Thirty Eight Kobo).’’
The reply explained that the Emir is not the Accounting Officer of the council but rather the Secretary of the Council.
It appreciated the opportunity granted to clear the air over the allegation.
