House of Representatives Majority Leader and Speakership Aspirant in the 9th Assembly, Femi Gbajabiamila has appreciated governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state on the support accorded his aspiration
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State, was the first governor, who led his state to give unrelenting support for his race at the Green Chamber legislature.
Femi Gbajabiamila said Ganduje’s support from the beginning to this moment shows that he a is proponent of harmonious working relationship between the executive and legislature, at the national level, as it obtained in Kano.
A statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Abba Anwar said the Speakership aspirant, Gbajabiamila stated this when over 100 members-elect paid a thank You visit to the governor, at Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, where they were hosted to Dinner, alongside the National Treasurer of APC, Adamu Panda.
“Kano was the first state to show our team committed support and unflinching solidarity. All states queue behind you, Your Excellency. We appreciate this show of love for the upcoming 9th Assembly and the nation in general,” Gbajabiamila reveals.
Adding that they were also there searching for more blessing for the team, from governor Ganduje and “…kindly help us in the last push of our contest. Kano, without any fear of mincing words, is a pace setter in this contest. We all believe that your style in supporting us, is highly commendable.”
In a remark, the governor assures that his support and that of the entire 24 members-elect from Kano state would continue to be unshakeable and straight.
“While assuring you of my unrelenting support, I am at the same time encouraging that all our members-elect, they are 24, are solidly behind your contest. You and your running mate Ahmed Wase,” he insisted.
Ganduje reveals that the main reason behind the quick support from the Kano legislators was because they hastily understood his body language, ab initio. That he was more in tune with Mr Gbajabiamila.
“You know body language could be more accurate than spoken words or recommendation. While words can sometime be contradictory, there is no contradiction, whatsoever in body language,” said Ganduje.
He reveals fundamental reason behind his unrelenting support for Gbajabiamila/Wase’s race, that “We are all for you because of one important issue. This issue is institutional memory. Like in the United States of America, where we copy, you will see a legislator spending many years in legislative house.
With this, that person, masters legislative work and all other requisites for productive legislative work. With Hon Gbajabiamila’s fifth term to the House and Hon. Wase’s fourth term, I think it cannot be wrong for us to say, yes we are in safer hands.”
Governor Ganduje reminded Gbajabiamila that, in 2015 Gbajabiamila was in Kano seeking his support for the same position, “You know I strongly supported you. Only that Allah didn’t make it possible that period.
Standing ovation immediately followed Ganduje’s inspiring remarks, with smiles and laughter on the faces of the visiting legislators. All the 24 members-elect from Kano were present at the event.
