Kano Emirate Cancels Hawan Nassarawa, Dorayi, Calls For Special Prayers

Kano Emirate Council has suspended Hawan Nassarawa and Hawan Dorayi scheduled for Thursday and Friday respectively.

Solacebase recalled that Kano state government in a statement issued earlier on Wednesday canceled Hawan Nassarawa citing security reasons.

A statement signed by acting Secretary of the Kano Emirate Council, Alhaji Abba Yusuf on Wednesday said the cancellation of the Durbar celebration of (Hawan Nassarawa ) was due to the order of the state government which the Emirate needed to respect.

The statement similarly said based on the information made available to the Emirate, it was uncovered that some thugs have been engaged to create havoc during the conduct of the Hawan Dorayi so as to inflict injuries on innocent citizens.

‘’With the value the Emir attaches to lives and respect for constituted authority, it became pertinent to suspend the two occasions, ‘’said the statement.

Meanwhile, the statement urged Imams, Islamic Clerics and the people to converge at Kano Central Mosque for a special payer for the soul of late Emir, Ado Bayero who died on June 6th 2014 and Emir Muhammad Sanusi’s accession of the throne as the 14th Fulani Emir on June 8th,2014 by 8.00am on Friday.

According to the statement, the Emirate Council appreciates the people with love shown to the council and support.
