Sallah Celebration: Ganduje Witnesses Maiden Durbar Celebration At Bichi Emirate

Kano state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Wednesday witnessed maiden traditional Durbar at Bichi Emirate amidst thousands of hundreds of people, with the Emir of Bichi, Aminu Ado Bayero to mark the Sallah celebration.

Solacebase recalled that Bichi Emirate Council was established with three others on May 8th 2019 by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje that include , Rano, Karaye and Gaya.

The governor was accompanied by the State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas, Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District, Barau I. Jibrin, party elders like Nasiru Aliko Koki, Shehu Maigari, Aminu Dabo, Member-Elect House of Representatives, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, amongst others.

A statement by Media Aide of the Governor, Abba Anwar, said some former Commissioners and Advisers of the governor were also there. Apart from heads of government agencies that also graced the occasion, with members of the business community, and the academia.

It said security was tight at the venue of the event, which made it possible for a peaceful celebration across the palace that the Sallah events took place.

The statement said the  occasion was graced by other esteemed personalities from all parts of the country including, Ilorin, Kwara state and many other well wishers from some African countries, who came to show solidarity to the new Emir of Bichi and have a glimpse of the historic Durbar celebration.

Emir Aminu Ado Bayero started from ‘Yar Kasuwa with many horse riders to Malam Isyaka Rabi’u’s Bichi residence to some other routes up to Federal College of Education (FCE) road down to his palace where the event took place.

When interviewed at the palace, Ganduje expressed  happiness over the maiden celebration, adding that, “This is historic and we are glad that similar events are taking place in all other Emirates.”

Ganduje reiterates reasons behind the creation of other four more Emirates in the state, that, it was done purposely for even distribution of growth and development for all parts of the state. And to also create other mega and modern cities outside Kano city.

While governor Ganduje was in Bichi Emirate, his Deputy Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna attended that of Rano Emirate, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Kabiru Alasan Rurum, was at Karaye Emirate and Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, attended that of Gaya Emirate.
