Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Zamfara state on Friday presented certificates of return to 24 newly elected members of the Zamfara state House of Assembly.
Zamfara state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hajiya Asama’u Sani Maikudi,in a remark, said success recorded at the elections was a result of innovations by the commission to improve the electoral processes as well as support of stakeholders.
Hajiya Asama’u Sani Maikudi, commended security agencies in the state for their sacrifices in ensuring peaceful environment before, during, and after elections.
She urged the newly elected lawmakers to use their position to implement people-oriented legislation that would enhance the provision of dividend of democracy to the good people of the state.
Also speaking, Zamfara state Governor, Bello Matawalle, represented by his deputy, Barr. Mahadi Ali Gusau promised to work harmoniously with the lawmakers.
