Kano State Football Association Chairman, Sharif Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan has been re-elected for another four-year tenure.
The election which was held at Minjibir Park, outskirt of Kano had 55 delegates and was supervised by Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau , Chairman of all FA who represented the NFF Chairman, Amaju Pinick.
The Football Administrator polled a total of 55 vote cast to emerge unopposed winner of the poll.
Solacebase recalled that a Court order issued on Friday, 24th May had restrained the parties from conducting the election on Sunday.
The suit which was filed by Muhammad Salisu Rabiu as the Plaintiff has Sharu Rabiu Ahlan as first defendant, Ma’aruf Yakasai as second defendant, Kano State football Association as third defendant and Kano state Sport Council as fourth defendant in the suit.
However, a source told Solacebase that the defendants in the suit said they were not aware of any court order as they were not served
The Chairman of the electoral committee, Barrister Ma’aruf Yakasai said those that were disqualified did not meet the criteria for the contest as Aminu Muhammad China was declared Vice Chairman of the Kano FA.
In his acceptance speech, Sharif Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan promised to carry everybody along.
‘’We are one big family and there is no grudges against anybody,’’ said Ahlan.
The reelected Chairman said elections into the 44 local government FA in the state will be conducted before the end of June 2019.
He added that those who have committed one offence or the other , have been forgiven in the spirit of Ramadan.
In a remark, Ibrahim Gusau who represented the NFF Chairman Amaju Pinick, said the election was in compliance with NFF regulations.
He noted that any aggrieved party should forward same to the Federation so as to address the issues.
