The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) says it has commenced electronic (online) auction of confiscated goods including exotic cars seized from smugglers in Imo/Abia and Edo/Delta commands.
Controller of Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Owerri, Imo state, Comptroller Kayode Olusemire, stated this while conducting newsmen round the latest seizures made in the zone.
He said that the auction, which will be conducted through the internet will be carried out every Monday and Wednesday for the next one month.
He urged interested members of the public to log into the internet designated website and select any of the items listed on the purchase list.
Kayode Olusemire, also said that among items to be auctioned electronically were Rolls Royce cars, Mercedes, Toyota and vehicles of different makes and other intercepted contraband.
The Controller stated that the use of online sales of seized goods is to make the process transparent and accountable.
