Appeal Court Exonerates Ex-Kano Commissioner Of Criminal Act

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna on Wednesday discharged and acquitted former Kano state Commissioner of Land & Regional Planning, Dr. Farouk Bibi Farouk following his appeal before the said Court.
The Appeal Court in its ruling on Thursday said the Kano High Court presided by Justice Nasir Saminu erred in law for over ruling the no case submission entered by the appellant , Dr. Faruk Bibi Farouk.
The three man Appeal Court Presided by Justice Oludotun Adepope Okojie said that there was no substantiating evidence linking Dr Farouk Bibi Farouk to the crime of criminal breach of trust by public servant, Cheating and Conspiracy.
He argued that the no case submission entered by the defendant at the lower court subsist.
Solacebase recalled that a nominal complainant, Baba Sharu Dala reported an alleged criminal breach of trust on land issue to the Kano state Public Complaint and Anti Corruption Commission against the then commissioner of Lands, Director, One – Stop Shop, and Permanent Secretary in the ministry.
Reacting to the judgment Counsel to the Plaintiff, Barrister Said Muhammad Tudun Wada commended the Court of Appeal Justices for upholding the truth.
He said the court has again demonstrated that it’s the last hope of the common man and the oppressed.
Also, Dr Farouk Bibi Farouk thank Allah who made it possible for the victory and the Nigerian Judiciary which stand for fairness and equity as the hallmark of Nigeria’s nascent democracy
