Kano Governorship Election: Tribunal Orders INEC To Allow PDP Inspect Election Materials

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting  in Kano  on Tuesday ordered Independent National Electoral Commission INEC  to grant PDP candidate Abba kabir Yusuf  access and inspect all the  election materials used in the March 9 and March 23 Governorship election.

The PDP Counsel, Barr. Maliki Umar, filed a motion exparte dated April 4, 2019 seeking for an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to grant access to the applicant to inspect documents used in the conduct of the election.

Umar through their application prayed the tribunal to allow Abba Yusuf and PDP have access to results sheets,ballot papers and card readers used during the March 9 and March 23 Governorship election in the state.

Delivering the ruling ,  the tribunal granted all  prayers by the applicants, and ordered INEC to supply the certified copy of March 9 and March 23 election materials used to PDP,  and also granted that All Progressive Ccongress (APC)  present two or three persons in the  course of the inspection

Solacebase recalled that the governorship election tribunal headed by Justice Halima Shamaki is yet to be inaugurated as the National and State Assemblies petition tribunal was last week inaugurated with 33 petitions from various respondents.

And it is headed by Justice Nayei Aganaba with other members including Justice Augustine Uwe and Justice Mustapha Tijjani
