Kogi state deputy governor Simon Achuba, on Sunday, raised the alarm that his life is in danger following the withdrawal of his security details on the orders of the governor of the state Yahaya Bello.
He stated this while speaking with journalists at his official residence in Lokoja, on Sunday.
Simon Achuba said he was about traveling to his hometown with his security men when the governor called them for a briefing.
The deputy governor said on getting to the government house, the governor’s ADC took them to the office of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) to make a statement.
According to him, “They accused my ADC and orderly of gunrunning but both of them denied the allegation.’’
“As I’m speaking now, they are under detention in the Government House. I informed the Commissioner of Police about the situation but till now he has refused to take any action.
“I’m a member of the All Progressives Congress. I reported to the national leader of the APC but nothing has been done… My imprest was stopped for no reason and it was ordered by the governor… I live as deputy governor in the house without security, I travelled home without police, my life is in danger.”
Achuba called on the inspector-general of police to call the commissioner of police to order so that his security details can be restored back.
