The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has said forty five thousand nine hundred and ninety six (45,996) ad hoc staff will conduct the 2019 general election in Kano state.
INEC Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner Professor Risqua Shehu announced this on Wednesday at a town hall meeting on voter education, organized by a nongovernmental organization, Organization for Community Civic Engagement in collaboration with Independent National Electoral Commission.
Prof. Risqua Shehu said the forthcoming general election is no doubt expected to be
“Our staff that will participate in the general election are already undergoing various training while necessary equipment and materials are available.”
“We have also commence recruitment of ad hoc staff which we intend to conclude by January 15.”
In a remark, the Executive Director of Organization for Community Civic Engagement Abdurrazak Alkali, said, the motive behind organizing the event is to enlighten the public about voting procedures at the forthcoming election.
“There is need for people to know what is expected of them in the election and for them to conduct their civic responsibility peacefully before , during and after the election.”
