Ganduje Mourns Ex-Kano Gov Hamza Abdullahi

Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has condoled with families of the former military governor of old Kano state, Air Vice Marshal Hamza Abdullahi (rtd) who died in Germany after a protracted illness.

A statement signed by the commissioner for information, youth and culture, Malam Muhammad Garba indicates that Governor Ganduje also sends his condolences to the government and people of Jigawa state over the loss of the former military governor, friends and Hadejia community members.

He paid tribute to the former governor, who has helped to lay the foundation for an effective education system and civil service in Kano state.

The statement says late AVM Hamza Abdullahi was well respected for his versatility and leadership, and would be long remembered for his service to the nation when he served as Minister of Works and Housing as well as the FCT.

Ganduje particularly acknowledged the far-reaching role the former Governor played to ensuring the successful movement of the nation’s capital city from Lagos to Abuja.

The Governor prayed that Almighty Allah would comfort his family, friends and associates in this period of grief and grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
