Kano Election Peace Committee on Monday appealed to politicians seeking various elective offices and their political parties to adhere strictly to political rules of engagement, and avoid all forms of actions that are capable to destabilizing peace of the state.
Co-Chairman of the committee Reverend John Namaza made the appeal on Monday at a press conference in Kano, organized to update the general Public on the committee’s activities since its inauguration.
Reverend John Namaza said the committee is committed to work with all relevant stakeholders including security agencies in the state to ensure peace before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
“There is no how credible leader can emerge in a chaotic situation. We need to understand that no life of any Nigerian is worth exchanging for the political success of any politician. Hence the importance of collaboration with all stakeholders for peace to reign.”
Earlier speaking, Co-chairman of the committee Professor Ibrahim Umar admonished youth in the state to refrain from using social media to create bad impression against anybody in the name of political support.
