Kano state government says its donation of N10 million is for the upcoming National Anti-Corruption Marathon tournament and not for the antigraft agency of .EFCC and ICPC.
It said the fund is for organizers of the Marathon tournament Fair Play Sports International Agency.
A statement signed by the spokesman of Kano state Governor, Ammen Yassar said Fair Play Sports is a private entity that organized marathon with EFCC, ICPC, Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, National Olympic Committee and other anti-corruption stakeholders as partners.
The statement said it is a clarification to earlier Press Release issued on Monday by the office.
It said for the avoidance of doubt, Kano state government did not and does not intend to contribute money to EFCC, ICPC or any other anti- corruption agency for any reason whatsoever.
