Kano state government has sought collaboration of the American government towards youth’s development through Educational exchange program.
The state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna made the request during a meeting at the American Embassy in Abuja.
He said when granted the demand will create job opportunities and eradicate youth restiveness.
“We have been friends with the United States Government and its people for a long time, therefore we want to develop collaboration to share expertise in areas such as education, agriculture and development”.
” We stand to benefit a lot through the programmes you conduct, our aim is to improve our schools enrollment and reduce educational gap in the state “.
A statement by Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hassan Musa Fagge said Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna also noted that the United States of America has not relented in supporting Nigeria in times of difficulties as the country progresses as a developing nation.
According to him Kano State is grateful for US several interventions through development partners.
” We are determine to secure the future of our youth in the best possible way, that is why we decided to come to you for collaboration “.
He further reiterated the Ganduje administration’s commitment of making Kano more peaceful and violent free especially during the 2019 elections.
The statement said the Political Counselor of the US Embassy in Abuja, Mr. Anton Smith assures of continued relationship and support to Kano State Government.
He also says the U.S Government has been providing humanitarian assistance to flood victims, IDPs and developmental program.
