The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Monday allegedly killed a man at Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State.
The victim identified as Ibrahim Umar was said to have been shot dead in the course of a raid by the operatives of the NDLEA by Kantin Kwari Textile Market in the area.
There were conflicting report on the identity of the victim which described as a drug dealer by some people while some eyewitnesses insisted the man was killed by a stray bullet when the agency operatives stormed the area and as they shot into the air.
In a telephone interview Kano NDLEA Commande, Hamza Umar said he was just being briefed about the situation as he is presently in Abuja.
“ I am in Abuja presently but my deputy is handling the situation. I was informed that my men were carrying out routine raids of some black spot in the area when some thugs attacked them and they had to protect themselves, “said Hamza Umar.
The NDLEA Commander said “ I have ordered a full investigation of the incident to actually determine what transpired at the scene.’’
