A member of the house of representatives Razak Atunwa,, has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election in Kwara state.
Rasak Atunwa floored a former Kwara state governor and senator currently representing Kwara north, Sha’aba Lafiagi who participated in the rescheduled exercise held on Monday.
In the results released on Monday evening , Atunwa scored 1555 votes ahead of Lafiagi who recorded 578 votes.
When the exercise started about eight of the ten aspirants withdrew from the race.
They are Bolaji Abdulahi, Ali Ahmad, Saka Isau, Ladi Hassan, Ibrahim Kaia, Zakari Mohammed, Abubakar Amani and Ahman Pategi.
Barr. Atunwa who was a former Speaker of Kwara state House of Assembly who represents Asa/Ilorin west federal constituency, is one of the godson of the Senate President Bukola Saraki.
He is a London trained Lawyer and practised in the United Kingdom until he moved to Nigeria in 2005 to commence his political career.
