The All Progressive Congress National Working Committee has postponed the governorship primary to 30th September 2018.
A statement issued and signed by the party’s acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, in Abuja, on Thursday confirmed this.
Though it noted that the dates for subsequent elections remain unchanged and are as follows:
*2nd October, 2018 – Senate primary elections
*3rd October, 2018 – House of Representatives primary elections
*4th October, 2018 – State House of Assembly primary elections
*6th October, 2018 – National Convention (Presidential)
For the presidential primary on Friday, the National Working Committee (NWC) has appointed respective State Governors to serve as Returning Officers.
“In States where there are no Governors on the Party’s platform, Senators along with the ministers are to serve as Returning Officers for the exercise.
“National and State House of Assembly members are to coordinate their various constituencies during the exercise”, said Nabena..
