Communications Minister Adebayo Shittu on Thursday was disqualified from Oyo state governorship race by the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The party adduced the minister skipping of the mandatory NYSC as reasons for his disqualification.
Premium Times had reported that Shittu failed to present himself for the scheme despite graduating from the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU) at age 25.
This was contained in a list released by the APC Spokesman Yekini Nabena of all aspirants cleared to participate in the primary election scheduled for Saturday.
In the report, the governorship aspirants screening committee of the ruling party said Shittu could not be considered to stand in the election.
Similarly , Minister of women affairs Aisha Alhassan was also disqualified from the race.
