Ganduje To Name Gawuna As Deputy

Kano state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has concluded arrangement to choose  the state Commissioner of Agriculture Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as his Deputy.

A reliable source told Solacebase  that after wide consultation with stakeholders and approval of party stalwarts , Ganduje will forward the Commissioner for Agriculture Nasiru Yusuf  Gawuna name to the state Assembly on Monday.

Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna who was in Abuja last week arrived Kano yesterday evening after concluding all arrangement.

The commissioner has being receiving loyalists in his house in the metropolis congratulating him barring any last minute change.

Prior to this moment ,  rumour was rife that Ganduje had picked Ibrahim Al-Amin (little), former governorship aspirant in 2003 under the platform of defunct APP, who is now member of PDP.

Solacebase gathered that, the current Principal Private Secretary (PPS), Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Kankarofi, the state APC chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, sheik Ibrahim Khalil, Commissioner for Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba are all front runners of the office of the Deputy Governor.

Although it was gathered that all along the governor has shown that he was not in a hurry for the selection of a deputy as he believes that a grass root politician who has wide support and contact can sail him through in the 2019 general election.

This and many form the choice of Nasiru Yusuf  Gawuna who was two time  former chairman of Nassarawa local government.

Gawuna had earlier announced interest to contest the Kano Central Senatorial seat.

Solacebase recalled that the former Deputy Governor, Professor Hafiz Abubakar had resigned his appointment accusing the governor Abdullahi Ganduje of sidelining him in the running of the affairs of the state Government.

Hafiz, had since joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and may fly the  governorship ticket of the party, where his political godfather Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is holding sway.
