Abuja Airport Opens For Flights, After Ali Modu Sheriff Aircraft Overshot Runway

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport , Abuja that was shut partially on Wednesday night has been opened for full operational flights.

The Airport was partially shut on Wednesday night when an aircraft overshot runway in the night.

Solacebase was reliably informed that the 5N BOD  Gulfstream 4 operated by SKY Bird Aviation belong to ex-Borno governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

The earlier partial closure of the airport according to a source was for the evacuation of the aircraft which has now been addressed.

It was gathered that the near accident occurred  due to heavy down pour that made the runway slippery.

Solacebase gathered that two flights departed Kano on Thursday morning for Abuja after the closure.
