The Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has presented relief support to the Zamfara State Governor, AbdulAziz Yari on behalf of the victims of the recent attacks unleashed by unknown gunmen in some communities of the state.
Professor Osinbajo who is also the Chairman National Emergency Management Agency (#NEMA) Governing Council led other top Government officials with #NEMA’s Director General, Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja who was represented by the agency’s Director Search and Rescue, Air Commodore Iyamu to Talatan Mafara Local Government Area for the formal presentation to cushion the plight of the affected victims.
Head Nema Sokoto Operations Office, Mal. Suleiman Muhammad stated that victims of the attacks which resulted to loss of lives, destruction of properties and displacement of large numbers of residents in Maradun, Maru, Anka, Dandoto and others will immediately receive the federal government’s relief intervention.
A statement signed by Information Officer ,NEMA Operations Office Sokoto Aliyu Mohammad said relief Materials donated are 1200 bags of rice, 300 bags of beans, 300 bags of maize, 300 kegs of vegetable oil, 1500 cartons of tomatoes, 1500 pieces each of men, women and children clothing, 1000 bundles each of wax and brocades, the rest are 1000 pieces of mattresses, 2500 pieces of blankets, 2000 pieces of mosquitoes nets, 1000 pieces of nylon mats and 200 cartons of toilet soap.
Commending the federal government for the gesture, Gov. Yari described it as timely and prompt. He further pledged that the state management agency (#ZEMA) in collaboration with authorities from the affected places had already strategize on how to distribute the items to the victims.
