Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has reconciled the two warring factions of the state House of Assembly.
Following the reconciliation which brought the crisis to an end, the Assembly will reopen on Thursday to further consolidate the resolutions reached at the meeting.
A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information Malam Muhammad Garba said the reconciliation meeting was held late on Tuesday at the Government House between representatives of the two feuding factions and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who intervened to resolve the crisis in the interest of peace and democratic development of the state.
Solacebase recalled that the Assembly since Monday morning has being barricaded by security agents following moves to impeach the Speaker Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
The Assembly sitting was subsequently suspended till after Eid El- Fitr by the Speaker.
Solacebase reported that the members bent on impeaching the Speaker rose to 24 out of 40 on Tuesday, later removed the principal officers and vowed to continue with the impeachment procedure.
