Sultan Cautions Kaduna Politicians Over Hate Speech

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alh Sa’ad Abubakar III has called on Kaduna politicians to stop hate speech and focus on promoting democracy in preparation for the 2019 general elections.

He made the observation while presenting his address at the Annual Pre- Ramadan lectures organised by the Jama’atul Nasirul Islam (JNI) in Kaduna on Tuesday.

The Sultan lamented the attitude portrayed by politicians in Kaduna, describing it as worrisome and disturbing.

He called on them (Kaduna politicians) to make peace and stop the hate speech because Kaduna is key to the survival of the region.

Sultan said “The attitude of politicians is becoming worrisome and disturbing, especially what is happening in Kaduna should stop.

“Kaduna politicians should close their ranks and stop the hate speech because Kaduna is key to the survival of the region.”

The Sultan also called for caution on the use of social media among the people, as politicians would do everything to promote religious, tribal, ethnic sentiments.

Solacebase recalls that Governor Nasir el-Rufai sometime last week rained causes on the three Senators representing Kaduna State at the National Assembly (NASS) on the rejection of the $350 million world bank loan for the state.

The governor, who was speaking at the official handing over of party flags to the candidates of the party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the local government elections into the 23 local government area at the Kaduna township stadium, described the senators as enemies of the state progress.

Solacebase gathered  that the three senators from Kaduna state. namely Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi (Kaduna North), Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central) and Danjuma Laah (Kaduna South) were unanimous in their rejection of the loan for the state for various reasons advanced.
