Students of Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil on Wednesday night protested the death of a colleague that died at Wudil River as a result of drowning.
An eyewitness Ibrahim Yusuf told Solacebase that three students went to the river to swim and got drowned in the cause while two were rescued and one later died.
The eyewitness said subsequently after rescuing the other two, some students went on rampage vandalizing the school property..
The situation according to reports gathered by Solacebase later led to chaos as there was burn fire and a property was touched.
Speaking on the situation, the University Deputy Head of Information, Protocol and Public Relations Units, Abdullahi D. Abdullahi said confirmed the demonstration of the students noting that he was yet to get details of the happening.
Solacebase was informed on Thursday morning that the university council is already in a meeting and the Media will be addressed later.
