Nigerian Army Arrests Armed Militia Men At TY Danjuma’s Town

Nigerian Army troops deployed in Exercise AYEM AKPATUMA have arrested suspected militia members at Takum in Taraba State.

A statement by the Director Army Public Relations Brig. Gen. Texas Chukwu, on Sunday said one of the suspects, Rapheal Yakwa, was arrested while taking unauthorized and suspicious photographs in a military event.

“During the preliminary investigation it was revealed that he was among some youths being sponsored by certain individuals of Taraba State to cause uprisings in the area.

The statement said he has also confessed to have participated in most nefarious activities of a group, this was further proven by series of media content discovered on his mobile phone.

“His confession has led to the arrest of another suspect, Mr Irambariye Mamman who is said to be the youth leader as well as the leader of the group.

“Also apprehended is one Mr Micah Audu who also confessed to be member of the gang,” Gen. Chukwu added.

Solacebase Reports that Retired Lt. General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, former Defence Minister   had urged Nigerians to defend  themselves from killers across the country instead of depending on the armed forces during  a live telecast programme of the10th anniversary of the Taraba State University, Jalingo, as he also made a grave accusation against the armed forces, accusing  them of  providing cover and defending the killers.

“You must rise to protect yourselves from these people. If you depend on the armed forces for protection, you will all die one by one”, said a visibly angry Danjuma.

“The ethnic cleansing must stop now. Otherwise, Somalia will be a child’s play. I ask everyone of you to be on the alert and defend your country, defend your territory, defend your state because you have nowhere else to go.

“The armed forces are not neutral. They are conniving with the armed bandits that are killing people,” he said.
