Unknown gunmen have abducted Secretary, Kano State Unuversal Basic Education Board SUBEB, Alhaji Uba Muhammad and demanded N20m ransom.
Alh. Uba Muhammad was whisked away by unknown persons at gunpoint in the early hours of Saturday at his Shiye village, Bunkure local government area of Kano state.
A family member who pleaded anonymity said that his brother has been in captivity since last weekend . The family source further disclosed that the abductors have demanded a ransom of N20m to set him free.
He noted that the case has been reported to the police, as he added that concern authorities are responding to the demand. “It was a shocking news on Saturday when the development was reported to the board. He was kidnapped at his village where, he mostly, spend his weekend. ” “We were told by the family that some people invaded the family house with guns and took him away. We have already reported the case to the government and relevant security apparatus and we hope the man will be rescued soonest”. Family source noted.
Kano Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the development, noting that investigation has being launched into the crime to rescue the victim alive.
