BREAKING: Ganduje’s commissioner hands over affairs despite rejection of resignation
Kano State Commissioner for Budget and Planning , Alhaji Nura Dankadai on Wednesday handed over the affairs of his ministry despite Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s rejection of his resignation letter.
Solacebase had reported over the weekend that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje issued an ultimatum to political appointees wishing to contest in the 2023 general elections to resign on or before Monday April, 18th in line with the Electoral Act, 2022 as amended .
However, the commissioner, Nura Dankadai, who has indicated interest to contest for the Tudun-Wada Federal Constituency, is said not to be happy with the directive for him to stay on as the party is more tilted to give the ticket in the constituency to House Majority Leader, Alhassan Ado Doguwa to go back to the National Assembly.
He was said to have turned in his resignation letter on Monday and was among the 3 commissioners and Chief of Staff that Ganduje rejected their resignation just like he did with the Managing Director of Kano Road Traffic Road Agency, KAROTA, Baffa Babba Dan’agundi.
The Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Sulaiman A. Dederi, who confirmed this in a press release after a brief handover ceremony, said “The Permanent Secretary, while accepting the position, thanked the outgoing commissioner and all staff of the ministry for their commitment, and promised to work closely with all staff of the ministry and adopt on open-door policy to achieve the desired goals.”
